For a long time I have been drawn to the incredible variations of surfaces. Be they natural or man-made and altered by the elements, surfaces engage my imagination. I do not allude to these sources literally, but as they cumulatively affect my sensual awareness. I use color and texture to tempt the viewer’s eyes and hands into an exploration of the activity on the surface of the picture plane. I hope this activity will tweak a memory of something previously seen or felt, and thus connect some of my memories to theirs.
